A New Year Awaits

Times flies so fast, isn't it? 2012 is about to start and here I am again, writing my traditional year-end post. Pretty much, this is just about all the significant things I'm thankful for this year. Before I started to jot down the things I wanted to say, I read my 2010 year-end post and it's quite funny how I mentioned again the line, "time flies so fast" and now finding myself typing the same thing before I even read that post. Oh well, I may never get the hang of it or maybe I just can't get over with the fact that I'm finally facing 2012 in just a few hours. Back to where I was, there are a lot of things I am thankful for. When I say A LOT, it's too many to be numbered. So let me start by saying, "THANK YOU 2011 FOR TEACHING ME TO..."

...FIRMLY BELIEVE IN MYSELF AND THE THINGS I NEVER KNEW I AM CAPABLE OF
If you've read my first post ever, which is practically about me being confused on what course to take and other dilemmas you think a post highschool student faces, then you might as well be surprised to hear from me that finally, I graduated from a 4-year course of Bachelor of Science in Nursing! yaaaaay for me! Truly, I 've proven myself that if you just put your mind to it, then surely you can achieve whatever you aspire! It may have been a long tough journey for me, but in the end I'm proud to say "I did it!" with flying colors. Not to mention, I was also requested to deliver a speech during the pinning ceremony at CAP Auditorium last April 7. How can I not be thankful for that? Without the grace of God and the support of my family and friends, I couldn't have achieved this.

...STRIVE HARD AND PRAY HARDER
Right after graduation, I and my good friend, Miggie decided to join free review classes since we've got nothing else to do and thought that it would be productive to attend classes instead of doing nothing at all. And besides, it's free! Our co -reviewers were the July takers. Just so you know, the Board of Nursing conducts the PNLE (Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam) twice a year. I chose to take the exam on December to have ample time to complete my cases and other requirements. After our free sessions, we had to take our formal review sessions for 5 months. All in all, it took us about 8 months to review for the said exam. whew! tiring? you bet! Hopefully the fruits of our labor will be reaped as soon as the result comes out. *keeping my fingers crossed* But beyond all the hard work, what matters most is how we kept ourselves close to God no matter what! On the actual day of the exam, it was God who guided us all the way and helped us finish the exam with a thankful spirit and a hopeful heart.

...ACCEPT REALITY OBJECTIVELY
I'd never get tired of saying this to myself over and over again, "If you think you've tried enough, then there's nothing left to do but to accept reality". There's no use of fighting what reality mirrors us. Yes, it may be painful to bear at times, but always remember that acceptance is the vital key for you to take in whatever it brings. However, we must not forget that we CAN ALWAYS CHANGE reality if and only if we have the relentless will to do so. NEVER LOSE HOPE for today's reality may be tomorrow's success.

...LEARN TO MEND WOUNDS OF THE PAST
There's no one in this world who hasn't been hurt. That's a fact. Whether we like it or not, hurt is but part of human's life cycle. Let's face it, it deeply hurts to be hurt. Whatever it is that you're going through right now, NEVER GIVE UP. This point also has a connection with the previous one. Before you start the healing process, acceptance should come into the picture first. One may have his own ways of healing which may be different from that of others but having the courage to take the first step to healing brings forth several steps to completion. And always put in mind that God will always be with you throughout the process.

Wish I could have written more but I guess my post would be too long by then. My apologies for my wordy post. I guess I was just carried away while reminiscing what my year has been. I'm done sharing mine. How about you? How was your year like?

Christmas Cheer

Today is like no other day because it's CHRISTmas! As they say, "it's the most wonderful time of the year!" Ever wondered how I celebrate Christmas? Well, I spend it with my family and friends just like most people do. It has been a tradition for our kin to have a family dinner together and play parlor games after. You may have read that line twice right? You're not mistaken. Even though I and my cousins are young adults already, we still enjoy playing silly games! As we grow old, the more fun it gets! Here are snapshots of what happened during the family get-together.

with my lovely sister, Carissa and pretty cousins, Abby and ate Lian

What's CHRISTmas without spreading love and gift-giving?
I was really happy my mom, dad, sister and grandmother loved the gifts I gave them! :) Making others happy makes me happier!

We bought these cute cuppycakes for nanay (what we fondly call my grandmother). It's like so-adorable-that-we-don't-want-to-eat-it! haha thanks cuppycakes!

on a serious note...
Let us remember that beyond the sparkle and joy that CHRISTmas brings,it is the birth of JESUS CHRIST that we are celebrating. So spread the CHRISTmas cheer and make others happy as well! In line with this, my heart goes out to the victims of typhoon Sendong. The nation cries with you.

ONCE AGAIN

I'm sorry for not updating my blog since july. Maybe you're wondering what I've been up to for the last 5 months or so. Well, I took the Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam (PNLE) last December 18-19. In preparation for the said exam,I had to take review classes which practically made me busy most of the time. My apologies for that. But hey,I'm back! So that means i'll be blogging again about what interests me--> fashion and food and whatnot! Yes you got that right! I have this liking for both. Pretty much how PB and J perfectly match! Expect for more posts and feel free to type in your comments because I also want to hear from you.

To break the monotony of this post, i will show you some of the pictures taken during my birthday. For those who have no idea, I just turned 22 last October 31. :)

Of course, how can i resist these delectable dishes? These are just 3 of my favorites haha

Boho's Back!

When I saw these pics last night, I started to like fringe bags! Matched with the right top and accessories, you’re on your way to becoming a boho chic!

I Remembered buying a fringe bag way back when I was in elementary. Boho style wasn’t the trend then but I don’t know why I bought it. . (maybe I had this ability of predicting fashion trends… *with voice whispering to my ear “ Go ahead and buy that… it’ll be a hit when 2011 comes!” hahahaha) ok2 enough of my random thoughts! Haha :D let’s go back to what I was telling you…. Where was I? Ok, so I bought the bag because I was so thrilled of how the leather strips swayed and mimicked every move I made (what a lame reason! haha) I only used it once (yes, I know what you’re thinking… a compulsive buyer, I agree hahaha) Now that boho’s back, I got my fringe bag out of its lonely dark space in my cabinet and voilĂ ! See I have my fringe bag back! Yaaaay! Epic!

Just today, I bought 2 pairs of earrings!! I couldn't be happier! Both can be matched with my bag!

So here's a list of what I did yesterday:

took a nap after my  duty (7-3 shift) at the hospital... my lower extremities were totally numb!
woke up at 12 midnight just to make my requirements....
darn it!!! I never learned from my mistakes! I don't want to hear the word CRAMMING again!! EVER! yikes! i just hate the feeling...
but why do I usually find myself cramming ?! (this calls for a change! one of my new year's resolutions i should say haha)
and guess what?!!!! I was wide awake until 5 am!!
quick bfast ...then suddenly these words popped into my mind:

" try like you've never failed..love like you've never been hurt... laugh like you've never cried..."

dunno why I randomly thought about that... lack of sleep? i guess so...
took a bath..
rushed to hospital!! ..  I arrived earlier than the usual! yeeeey!! 6:22! (btw, we had to be there on or before 6:30am)
whew!!
now that's what you call "morning rush!"
